Advanced Wheel Throwing

This course is suitable for students who’ve completed our beginners 8 week throwing course & potters who can throw off the hump.*

craftsmanship—do what you love & do it well

Over eight weeks we will help you to strengthen your core throwing skills and develop your knowledge of professional ceramic techniques and methods. We will also teach you:

  • Mastering the wheel thrown cup

  • Pulling & attaching handles

  • In-lay & sgraffito techniques

  • Throwing repetitive forms

  • Recycling clay & other studio practices

Embrace your creative side using our speckled mid fire clay & huge selection of glazes. And if you’d like to hone your craft even further, you can also practice throwing outside of class during our weekly studio sessions.

Term 2 dates: 4 May to 27 June 2019

Price: $450 per person. Students can enrol in one of the following classes:

  • Mondays, 6:30pm-8:30pm (7 May to 1 July**) 1 spot left

  • Tuesdays, 10am-12pm (8 May to 23 June) sold out

Please Note

  • The morning course is open to beginner & advanced students.

  • *If you’re not sure if you have enough experience to join our evening course please email info@bsoc.com.au.

  • **There will be no class on Monday 10 June due to the public holiday. This means there will be 8 classes spread over 9 weeks.

  • Students must choose one class. There is no swapping between classes through the term.

  • The price includes all clay, slip, in-house glazes, studio equipment and tools used during each class. Please note- there is a seperate fee for all work we fire in our kilns. The firing fee is $10 per kilo (roughly 5 small pots), payable when you collect your finished work.

Cancellation & refund policy

Please choose carefully. Once you have booked and paid we will only provide a refund if the course is unable to go ahead. If you change your mind after you have booked and paid for your place, you may transfer your booking to a friend - but only before the course starts (please inform us before your first class). We do not allow transfers between terms. Alternatively, if there is a waiting list and we can successfully offer your space to another student before the first class commences, we will hold your payment for another course or class up to 12 months.
