Advanced Beginners Wheel Throwing

This is an eight week course for Byron School of Clay students who have completed the beginners wheel throwing course.* 

Take your skills to the next level 

Together we will strengthen & refine your core throwing skills, and learn new decoration techniques to make your pottery truly unique. 

In this course we cover:

  • Throwing repetitive forms
  • Pulling & attaching handles
  • In-lay & sgraffito techniques

Practice outside of class

Students can also practice their throwing skills outside of class hours. In Term two, all continuing BSOC students will have four free hours to use during open studio sessions.

Term Two Dates: 14 May to 9 July 2018

Students can choose to enrol in one of three different classes.

  • Mondays, 6:30pm: 14 May to 9 July**
  • Tuesdays, 10am: 15 May to 3 July
  • Tuesdays, 6:30pm: 15 May to 3 July

Term Two Prices***

  • Early Bird: $450 per student (ends Friday 27 April, 6pm)
  • Standard: $475 per student

Please Note

  • *If you would like to join this course but have not studied beginners wheel throwing, please email info@bsoc.com.au
  • **The school will be closed on Monday 11 June to observe the public holiday (Queen's Birthday). There will be no classes on this day. Due to this, all Monday students will finish the course a week later than the rest of the term.
  • ***The class price is fully inclusive of all materials including unlimited clay, slips & glazes, and access to all studio equipment and tools. 

Cancellation & refund policy

Please choose carefully. Once you have booked and paid we will only provide a refund if the course is unable to go ahead. If you change your mind after you have booked and paid for your place, you may transfer your booking to a friend - but only before the course starts (please inform us before your first class). We do not allow transfers between terms. Alternatively, if there is a waiting list and we can successfully offer your space to another student before the first class commences, we will hold your payment for another course or class up to 12 months.
